Dan Miller’s presentation focuses on why the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports are actually best case scenarios. For example, IPCC climate models do not include the effect of melting permafrost releasing greenhouse gases, even though the permafrost is melting now and it holds more greenhouse gases than all that mankind has ever released.
Vinod Khosla (विनोद खोसला (Devanagari), ਵਿਨੋਦ ਖੋਸਲਾ (Gurmukhi); born January 28, 1955) is an Indian-American venture capitalist and an influential personality in Silicon Valley.
Khosla was one of the co-founders of Sun Microsystems where he would serve as CEO & Chairman in the early 1980s and then became a general partner of the venture capital firm Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers in 1986 where he would remain through the early 2000s.
In 2004 Khosla formed his own firm, Khosla Ventures focused on venture investments in various technology sectors, most notably clean technology.
Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson (born 18 July 1950) is a British industrialist, best known for his Virgin brand of over 360 companies.
Branson’s first successful business venture was at age 16, when he published a magazine called Student.[1] He then set up an audio record mail-order business in 1970. In 1972, he opened a chain of record stores, Virgin Records, later known as Virgin Megastores and rebranded after a management buyout as Zavvi in late 2007 who later went into administration in 2008 and only exist now as an online store. Branson’s Virgin brand grew rapidly during the 1980s—as he set up Virgin Atlantic Airways and expanded the Virgin Records music label.
Richard Branson is the 261st richest person in the world according to Forbes’ 2009 list of billionaires, with an estimated net worth of approximately £2.6 billion.
